Is the diesel price the same across Pakistan?
Yes. Diesel is priced nationally by OGRA and the Finance Division, so the rate in Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Faisalabad, Multan, Peshawar and every other city is the same. Individual pumps cannot set their own price.
Why is diesel more expensive than petrol in Pakistan?
The two fuels carry different levies and different import costs, and they are notified separately, so either can be the dearer one. Diesel has been above petrol through most of 2026.
